Having served the majority of my professional experience in the field of aging, I understand the need to provide quality long-term care options that allow our elders, and eventually ourselves, the privilege to grow and age in our own home.

Wanda Cooper joined InnovAge in 2019 and is responsible for overseeing four PACE centers in Virginia. Wanda has more than 20 years of experience working in the field of senior care. Most recently, she worked for the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, where she oversaw compliance with federal health and safety regulations for PACE participants enrolled in programs throughout the state. Wanda has also managed PACE programs for Lutheran Senior LIFE in New Jersey, as well as the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing in Philadelphia. Wanda attended Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where she earned her master’s degree in healthcare administration and management.

Regional Medical Officer – Eastern Region

What attracted me to LIFE is its founding philosophy of aging gracefully in place. I believe it takes a village to keep an elder safe at home. My favorite part of my job is interacting with participants. I value the opportunity to care for them, as I learn so much from their experiences, which makes me a better physician and person.

Dr. Luz Ramos earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of the East Philippines and her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare from George Washington University. She completed her internal medicine residency at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ and her geriatric medicine fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Ramos is board certified in geriatric medicine. Previously, Dr. Ramos served as the Network Medical Director of NewCourtland Senior Services in Philadelphia. She is a faculty member for the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care (AMDA) and an active member of the Pennsylvania chapter of the AMDA. Dr. Ramos loves to travel—she was born and raised in the Philippines and still has family there, exploring foods from around the world, and spending time with her family.

Nurse Practitioner

It takes a team of dedicated, committed professionals from all disciplines to provide the best evidenced- based care to patients and their families. Team work makes the health care work.

Rhoda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from South Carolina State University and her Master’s Degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgia State University. She also has a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, specializing in Nursing Education, from Capella University in Minnesota. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner.

She worked for more than a ten years as a nurse practitioner with geriatric patients. In addition to working at the PACE center, she is committed to educating the next generation of nurse practitioners and serves as a Dean of Nursing and a college professor. Prior to joining InnovAge, she worked at Carilion Community Clinic.

Rhoda served in the in the military during the first Gulf War and in the Army Reserves. She has worked in cities across the country from Georgia to Washington State. She and her husband enjoy traveling in their motorhome and riding motorcycles. She has a son and two toy poodles named Prince and Joker.

Nurse Practitioner

Helping our elderly population age in place and live their best life possible has been the highlight of my career as a nurse practitioner.

Angela earned nursing degrees from Jefferson College of Health Sciences and Virginia Western Community College. She also has a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. She served as an instructor in a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program. Angela is a member of the Southern Gerontological Society, and has experience as a nurse in many care settings including emergency medicine, family practice, pediatrics, labor and delivery, and newborn nursery. Angela grew up in Atlanta, GA and has lived in Virginia for more than 20 years. She and her husband have two children in college and two dogs. She enjoys kayaking, rappelling and watching old James Bond movies.
